It's a...

BOY! 

YAY! We are so excited. I can't even believe it. From the first time I heard the heart beat I had a motherly feeling it was a boy. Don't ask me how or why, I just had a feeling. So I guess my intuition is right so far!!

And there are the family jewels. Ha this poor kid. already nothing is sacred. 

WHAAAT?!

You guys I can not even believe I am writing this right now. But I am pretty dang excited to announce to my blog friends (do I have any blog friends?) That Chris and I are expecting our first little Okland in January!! Holy Cow that is crazy and thrilling all at the same time.

This is how we told our families:

Poor guy hated this little shirt. I think it was made of short fat puppies not tall skinny ones! hehe

So we put this shirt on him and went to my parents first (i'm sure no one cares but I want to have this all written down somewhere so that someday I can reread it) 

We went to my parents house and told them to come see our new trailer, when we got outside they ignored Ralph and couldn't stop talking about our cool new trailer. Then finally my mom says: 

"are you guys getting a puppy" My thought, are you crazy woman!!! 

Chris says "Lauren might be having a puppy" Hugs, kisses, etc.

My dad is still staring at the trailer cause he can't hear what is going on. 

Finally my sister wrangles him up and says "dad, this is not about the dam trailer, look at the dog"

My dad has a bewildered look. 

My sister mumbles to me "oh my hell" says to him "they are having a baby!!!" 

Immediate tears flow from his sweet little eyes. Softest guy ever! I love him. 

It was pretty fun!

We told Chris's parents on a friday night because they wanted to go to dinner and I was so sick. Instead of them thinking their daughter-in-law was the crankiest person ever, we thought we better tell them. 

They were really excited! But when Sandra (Chris's mom) saw Ralph she said 

"Is Ralph in his pajamas?" Hilarious! 

Then she read the shirt and everyone was happy!

On Monday, Sandra and Randy were nice enough to help us get everyone together so we could tell them. They told everyone to come swim and eat homemade ice cream. 

So we were all sitting around hanging out and waiting for everyone to arrive and Sandra kind of winked at us. like "its time" so we put the shirt on Ralph and let him wander. It was pretty hot so he just laid under the table where no one could see him. So Sandra started calling him and kind of walking him around pointing at him, I think she was done waiting for people to notice. Finally Chris's sister read it out loud and Chris's Sister-in-law screamed!

 it was funny but kind of scared the crap out me at the same time. 

Sandra brought out ice cream with little babies on top! She had gone all out and we all just thought we were having ice cream. So nice of her. 

Anyway, that is the story of telling everyone.

We are really excited to meet Ralph Jr. (as Chris calls him/her) on January 4th. We are 11 weeks along and so excited this first trimester is almost over! ;) 

Strange feeling its a boy but I'm sure I'm wrong. 

Good Stuff

I rarely bust out the camera these days, why would you when the phone is so handy and easy. Well it doesn't take the best pictures but still it is so convenient. Here are the random happenings of our lives. If you follow me on intagram @lacokland, then you have most likely seen most of these. 

Last weekend we wanted to try out our new pop up

So we headed down to Moab.

It was so big that while we were camping and the moon came out, it seriously looked like someone turned on a dim light.

I bought a new neon orange shirt. I was and still am pretty excited about it. 

I love watching my cute nephew Connlly while I work.

I was in bed watching TV and this little miss Kitty just climbed 

right up on me and went to sleep.

Chris went to Vegas for my lil brother's bachelor party and while I was doing the laundry

I found this lovely shirt. 

Every had the organic individual hummus packs from costco? 

Get there, they are awesome. 

I was having kind of a rough day this day and Ralph new I was sad so he 

got right in my face and licked the end of my nose. Thank you Ralphy Boy!

Met some good friends Jennie and Jenny at Rio for a delicious lunch. 

We went to jr. high and high school together. 

I never really see either of them so it was good to catch up. 

The other day I looked outside and my mom's dog had made himself at home

ON TOP OF MY TABLE! Goofball.

It backfired because everyone thought i was say she was bored but really

Christmas in Hawaii

Ok Get Ready, WEDDING!!

Ok I got my pictures from the wedding from the amazingly talented Molly Jones. Check out her website she does such an incredible job. 

We had such an amazing day. The sun came out at the last minute and we were able to have the ceremony outside (being outside was the whole reason we planned a wedding in only 5 weeks). 

Chris's sister did the flowers. They turned out really pretty. 

Smooch. Chris hates how he looks in kissing pictures but I loved this one. 

This is about as serious as the two of us get. It didn't last long...

...as you can see. I loved this because that is what we do the most of, laugh at each other.

Oh my sweet daddy. Yes, I call him Daddy. I always will. 

Funny story, my dad is a little hard of hearing so as he was walking me down the isle he started singing the "here comes the bride"song (that is not what i walked down the isle to). So the music started really quite and here me and my dad come down while he is BELTING "bum bum bum bum" to the tune of here comes the bride....Hilarious and so typical! 

Noelle, me and Kleis. The 3 girls! We were all laughing pretty hard but trying to keep it together in this picture. Noelle was so ready pictures. She kept asking if it was her turn yet, weird, we usually can't get her in front of a camera.

This was actually a really comfy dress. I wish someone would have talked me into spanx though. I have a little tummy going on in most of these. Chris's grandma Jeanne passed away a few months ago and these were her pearls. Chris gave them to me a few days before the wedding and asked me to wear them. They are so beautiful and they go great with the strand my parents gave me when I turned 21. They had had them before I was even born. Noelle has a pair too. 

Well this is the crew. We all went to elementary, junior high and high school together... We've been friends forever. Love these girls. 

Our wedding day happened to be Chris's grandma Fern's birthday. So we all sang her a little happy birthday. I think she was pretty excited/embarrassed. 

That was such a good cake. Nothing bundt cake!!!

There are lots more pictures but these are a few of the ones I loves. We had a great day and shared it with great people. Chris and I are so happy and so grateful for all of the support of our amazing family and friends. 

The week after we got back from our honeymoon in Jackson Hole we started our remodel which is still going and consuming our lives and $$$. I have some good before pics and I'll get some after too. Also we are headed to the lovely island of Maui to spend Christmas with Chris's family on the beach.
